Barr Engineering Company is looking for a Tribal Resource Specialist “ Mid Level (Hybrid/Remote) 

Job Description: Summary: The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams on a variety of challenging engineering projects with Barrs Tribal Nations and other clients. The role will act as a critical point of contact at Barr to address the engineering and infrastructure needs of Tribal Nations and American Indian communities and serve as liaison between Tribal governments and project teams. The role will also strengthen professional relationships between Barr and Tribal Nations and American Indian communities. The work will involve coordinating plans for Tribal projects with internal projects teams, other engineering firms, and contractors for funded or developing projects; developing project plans and identifying key project needs and resources; coordinating project milestones and deliverables; and monitoring costs and budgets. The work may include overall project management, task management, or review of services and deliverables at a level appropriate to the professional experience of the person in this position. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business administration, engineering, or environmental sciences 5 years of relevant professional experience related to the job responsibilities described above Professional experience working with Tribal Nations and American Indian communities Strong organizational and administrative skills Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Willingness to work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative Flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in American Indian Studies, business administration, public administration or similar degree 8 or more years of experience working with Tribal Nations and American Indian communities A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office; a remote arrangement refers working primarily from a home office. This position is based out of Barr’s Bismarck, North Dakota, office. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location requirements, and Barrs needs. NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required. Safety training will be provided.
