Position Description: Sr. Software Engineer- Platform Engineering for Medtronic, Inc., located in Minneapolis, MN. Responsible for the health, observability, and maintainability of the production and non-production environments that drive the day-to-day business. Work with Kubernetes Operators to create custom operators and using Terratest to unit test code. Support production workloads on Kubernetes utilizing Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) “ specifically coordinating upgrades and creating Kube Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC). Responsible for programming Golang with unit testing. Leverage cloud native technologies including AWS (Amazon Web Services), AWS SSM (Amazon Web Services Simple Systems Manager) and working with Linux to monitor and build system, network, and storage administration. Ensure the environments are up and running by monitoring availability and performance through a holistic view of system health. Responsible for deploying and troubleshooting various workloads on Kubernetes leveraging Helm, Flux, and Istio. Use Infrastructure automation tools to include Terraform and Ansible. Utilize Hortonworks Data Platform and Azure Pipelines to maintain production and non-production environments. Responsible for Debugging Java Stack traces. Position is open to telecommuting from anywhere in the United States. #LI-DNI. Basic Qualifications: Masters Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related technical/engineering field and 2 years experience as a software engineer or related occupation in Site Reliability Engineering. Must possess a minimum of two (2) years with each of the following: Cloud on AWS, AWS SSM, and Linux; Deploying and troubleshooting workloads on Kubernetes; Terraform and Ansible; Helm, Flux, and Istio; Hortonworks Data Platform and Azure Pipelines; and Debugging Java Stack traces.
