Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will support market and corporate leaders by providing low-code application development support, enabling more efficient contracting and network processes as well as enhancing Humana’s ability to monitor and improve contracting and network performance. In this role, you will exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and completing work for complex projects. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer: Works with Humana corporate, market, and network leadership to understand business strategy and data analysis needs and implements solutions and technologies to meet those needs Contributes to cross-functional, data-driven low-code application development and reporting initiatives by working with business partners to improve Humana’s provider and contracting-related processes Serves as the data and low-code development subject matter expert in assigned portfolios of work; upholds and enforces the highest development standards Provides mentoring to teammates to promote best practices and grow the organization, especially in low-code development using Microsoft Power Apps Builds optimized, scalable, and well-documented analytical processes and low-code applications to integrate data from various platforms and enable or streamline data-driven processes in accordance with departmental standards Work comfortably with cross-functional teams, bridging the gap between business and technology, with co-workers at all levels of technical proficiency and leadership. Experience with SharePoint lists, flat files, databases, APIs, or other structured data sources. Experience writing SQL queries Proficiency in technical writing, verbal communication, and public speaking. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Formal Microsoft certification in Power BI, Power Platform, or Power Apps. Experience with other low-code platforms such as SharePoint, Microsoft InfoPath, Microsoft Access, SalesForce, Office VBA macros, etc. Experience with report writing tools such as Power BI especially, QlikView, Tableau, Microsoft SSRS, etc. Experience in the medical, health care, insurance, or provider industries. Experience working with web or internet platforms, HTML, publishing, web servers, etc. Expertise with more advanced data platforms such as MS SQL Server especially, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, data architecture, query optimization, etc. Experience with a software development programming language such as C# especially, JavaScript, Python, Java, PHP, Go, etc. Experience with distributed or cloud technologies such as Git, Kubernetes, Hive, Hadoop, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, etc. Additional Information This role is considered “remote/work at home” and can be based anywhere in the United States. Work at Home Information To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information #LI-JR1 #LI-Remote Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $78,800 – $108,500 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
