In this exciting role as a Reliability Engineer II supporting the Cardiac Surgery Quality organization, you will have responsibility for performing complaint investigations. The Cardiac Surgery Operating Unit develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes. This position is in Mounds View, MN or Santa Ana, CA within the Cardiac Surgery (CS) Operating Unit and requires 3 days onsite per week. Medtronic walks the walk, creating an inclusive culture where you can thrive. A Day in the Life In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Reliability Engineer II role. This includes, but is not limited to the following: · Performs complaint investigation of Cardiac Surgery complaint devices and completes associated quality documentation. · Assigns coding to events to capture findings. · Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support timeliness metrics. · Assists with completion of risk management documentation updates. · Develops, coordinates, and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. · Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. · Completes risk analysis studies of new design and processes. · Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. · Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. · Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency reliability objectives. · May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. · As necessary, proposes changes to improve systems and/or processes. · May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data. Must Have – Minimum Requirements TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, PLEASE BE SURE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME · Bachelors degree in engineering, Science, Quality or a technical discipline · Minimum of 2 years of work experience in Engineering, Science, Quality, OR Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or technical discipline with 0+ years of work experience. Nice to Have · Strong written and verbal communication skills and work cooperatively as part of a team and cross functionally. · Ability to manage project timelines to execute deliverables in a timely manner. · Ability to solve problems and innovate solutions. · Medical Device Industry experience. · Quality experience working in a regulated industry. · Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Windows OS. · Experience working within complaint management system. · Familiarity with these regulations: FDA 21 CFR Part 820 cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10012, and ISO 17025. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan. Learn more about Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP) . The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc. Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
