Multiple medical plans (PPO and HDHP) Voluntary disability plans, accident insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity, AD&D and Life insurance A culture of people development and internal career growth A culture of caring, collaboration and respect Plant Engineer Duties and Responsibilities: The Plant Engineer is responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance, including the maintenance staff, the building(s), the rolling equipment, the stationary equipment, and the refrigeration systems. In addition to his/her direct reports, the Plant Engineer collaborates with the area Production Managers to ensure the uptime of the HPP equipment. Plan, organize, directs, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations. Understand and collaborate with the maintenance supervisor in repairs of high pressure processing and pasteurization equipment. Responsible for the master maintenance plan Leads proactively but responds quickly to urgent matters Conducts regular audits of all equipment and facilities, including, but not limited to: Buildings HVAC Electrical Insulation Relevant security equipment “ proximity sensors Rolling equipment “ forklifts, motors Stationary equipment “ conveyor belts Reports to the Director of Operations Collaborates with area Production Managers as needed Prioritizes maintenance tasks Assigns tasks to respective maintenance staff and manages the quality and timeliness of their completion Provides coaching to staff, as needed Ensures projects are completed on time and on budget Develops and manages performance metrics for department and team Designs and implements preventative maintenance measures Maintains certifications and regulatory documentation Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations Works with Finance & Accounting to create and manage budget Monitor capital expenditure projects Conducts vendor relations Provides defined report information to leadership team Plant Engineer Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Possesses previous Plant Engineer or Maintenance Manager experience Minimum 5 yrs experience in Manufacturing, Food Manufacturing preferred Possesses a bachelors degree in Engineering or related field preferred or any combination of schooling and experience in related field Experience “ knowledge of OSHA and other governmental regulations; incident and accident prevention Excellent interpersonal skill with internal and external customers Leadership “ the ability to command and maintain attention of those you are overseeing Organization “ an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Effective communication “ the ability to convincingly convey instructions, directions, and details to others Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the methodologies of Lean Continuous Improvement and apply these concepts where applicable in the operation Attention to detail “ the ability to manage all duties, rules, documentation, and other components of the job with focus and accuracy Confidentiality “ the ability to protect data, information, and employee privacy Empathy “ the ability to be concerned for another persons well being Collaborative “ an ability to work with diverse personalities for a tangible and beneficial outcome Plant Engineer Demands and Working Conditions: Physical activity. Requires occasional heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a part of the job. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility.
