As a key member of our IT team, the Oracle APEX Engineer develops internal web applications in a manufacturing environment using Oracle APEX and Java language. Candidates must have hands-on experience developing and customizing Oracle APEX applications and have a deep appreciation for metrics, KPI practices and standards. This role involves designing and implementing clean, user-friendly, and modern-looking user interfaces. Our new APEX Engineer will work closely with the software engineering team as part of Agile software development projects and hold responsibility for designing and developing user-friendly web applications using a combination of APEX, Java, and JavaScript libraries. This role is 70% maintenance/support and 30% new development, and is perfect for a detail-oriented, highly motivated self-starter who can work closely and collaboratively with others under tight time constraints. Core Role Responsibilities: Provide technical ˜know-how in designing and developing Oracle APEX solutions from user requirements and existing legacy Oracle Forms & Reports Developing PL/SQL packages and procedures Assisting in testing and QA of developed software and processes Responsible for integrating third-party APEX Plugin, Java, and JavaScript libraries. Suggest application design enhancements and new product features. Evaluate new technology options, recommending adopting new technologies into the solution. Essential Qualifications and Qualities: Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Equivalent work experience may be substituted. 4+ years experience designing and developing web applications using Oracle APEX. Oracle SQL / Oracle PL/SQL programming experience. Experience in managing web page layouts with APEX templates and themes. Relational Data modeling. Knowledge of web application usability trends. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Experience collaborating effectively with team members and partners in a distributed project environment. Problem-Solver with the ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues. Professional commitment to high quality and a passion for learning new skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies. Strong team player who can communicate and collaborate effectively in a geographically dispersed working environment. Highly Desirable Skills / Experience: Oracle Database performance and tuning. APEX Universal Theme. APEX Plugin development. Experience integrating REST APIs into APEX applications. Web application security / data security.
