Native American Cultural Liaison Faculty Position The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND invites applications for the position of Native American Cultural Liaison (NACL) faculty position in the Graduate Education Program in the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences. The NACL position is a full-time faculty rank 11-month position that includes graduate teaching and advising responsibilities in the Graduate Education Program. This position is directly responsible to the Chair of Graduate Education, Associate Dean and Dean in the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences. In addition to graduate program teaching and advising responsibilities, the candidate hired for this position with have grant administrative responsibilities for our current Native American Education Leadership Program (NAELP) Grant Program and the writing of future grants designed to provide support for the education of Native Americans in North Dakota who are pursuing an undergraduate teaching degree or a graduate education degree. The candidate hired for this position will be expected to develop strong collegial relationships with colleagues in North Dakotas Native American communities to strengthen community engagement to share cultural knowledge and support opportunities for Native American students and community members to celebrate and share cultural traditions. All faculty are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary (see ). Qualifications and Requirements Include: The successful candidate will have a Ph. D or Ed.D. doctoral degree in education or related field; K-12 and/or higher education teaching experience; at least two years of administrative experience in higher education; and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, active scholarship, and a desire to serve the North Dakota Native American community. Special consideration will be given to faculty who are Native American and/or who have worked in or with K-12 Native American schools in North Dakota. Applicants must be able to work in person at the main university campus in Bismarck, ND. Demonstrated commitment to and/or experience in promoting and fostering a learning environment supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with academic committees and a commitment to working collaboratively with departments within the Liffrig School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and across the University on multidisciplinary or inter-professional initiatives. Experience with, or capacity for, online and hybrid teaching and grant administration or grant writing are preferred. Candidates are expected to uphold and supports the Christian Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary and support the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities. Lastly, candidates are expected to build a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedicts admonition that all be received as Christ.
