Primary Objective of the Inventory Control Clerk: Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of daily inventory activities, including: the accuracy of receiving activity and receiving receipts, inventory locations are properly recorded and entered into the inventory system correctly. Responsible for accurate daily counts, replenishments, and location audits, accurately recording those counts into the inventory system and make any system adjustments according to company guidelines. Picking material for production. Determine the root cause of inventory discrepancies and suggest corrective actions to process/procedure to eliminate future occurrences. Back-up to shipping finished goods to customers. Major Job Accountabilities for the Inventory Control Clerk: Counts material, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies and posts totals to inventory/property records, manually or using computer Verifies record computations against physical count of inventory and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages Prepares list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items May stock and issue materials or merchandise Assist in the process of receiving incoming materials, check quantities with packing list for accuracy, visually inspect items for damage and compare packing list against purchase order alerting materials of any discrepancies Back up for shipping finished goods to customers. Education and Experience needed of the Inventory Control Clerk: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) with at least 6 months of related experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for the Inventory Control Clerk: Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong initiative, proactive, sense of urgency Strong shipping, receiving and inventory knowledge Organization and strong time management skills A hands-on individual with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, change-based environment Effective oral and written communication skills Great attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks is necessary Ability to work extended hours as job duties demand. Physical Requirements (these physical requirements must be performed with or without accommodation): Majority of time is spent in usual office working conditions Ability to sit for extended lengths of time is required; bend, reach, stoop, and twist as required Heavy use of an office computer for completing work Limited exposure to a manufacturing area which may entail exposure to dirt, dust, noise, machine chemicals, fumes, and other attributes common to this environment Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
