Job Description: Overview This Senior Engineering position is responsible to implement technical privacy and security data protection controls across the Bank through applying strong privacy and security knowledge, deep engineering principles and technical expertise. This role will both help design and implement solutions to mature the Banks data protection controls through the implementation solutions to automate data mapping, assessing the Banks Data Protection adherence to control requirements and automate data analytics and operational and management reporting. This role requires a strong knowledge of industry practices, technology, Data Protection control expectations for regulated industries to enhance protections for the Bank’s data processing, information systems and resources. May oversee less experienced associates in the work group. Responsibilities Technical Engineering – Administers tools and processes which implement Data Protection controls including demonstrated working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals including working with REST and SOAP-based APIs. Experience in data structure and inspection technologies such as: JSON, XML, REGEX, Python required. Technical Engineering – Expertise in at least one language such as Java or Python. You should be familiar with data structures, algorithms, runtime complexity, API, and database design, as well as unit and functional test methodologies. Software development experience “ Some experience in software development, testing and code review in one or more general purpose languages, agile methodologies, and the software development lifecycle. Participation in one full release cycle from conception through release. Analysis – Identifies and evaluates identify potential threats or vulnerabilities in the Bank’s networks, applications, or systems. Compiles data from external or internal sources. Creates actionable intelligence based on review of analysis. Participates in security audits, identifies data protection control gaps, and develops and implements risk mitigation solutions. Ensures compliance with necessary protocols, configurations, or procedures. Testing and Solution Validation – Responsibilities also include performing testing and debugging of the Banks Data Protection platform and documenting procedures for installation, operations, and maintenance. Data Protection Expertise – Maintains a current knowledge of technology, emerging threats, and privacy and security trends within the assigned technical area. Provides guidance on appropriate security protocols. Leads technical projects and may serve as a resource to other business units. Ensures team members are trained on the current trends, threats, and applicable technologies. Business Strategy – Assists senior leadership in the development of privacy, security and data protection policies, standards, and strategies. Experience with Data Protection solutions including OneTrust and BigID is preferred. Remote eligible. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in systems engineering, networking or information security technologies -OR- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering, networking or information security technologies
