Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is looking for a Gift Planning Officer
Presbyterian Homes & Services Foundation is seeking an experienced gift planning officer who can manage both major and planned gifts. This position is full time though experienced candidates who wish to work less than full time are encouraged to apply. The Presbyterian Homes Foundation (PHF) is seeking a professional who must embody and reflect the values of PHS and be enthusiastic and committed to its mission, Christian culture, and vision. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, experienced in establishing trusting relationships, and deeply passionate about “honoring God by enriching the lives and touching the hearts of older adults.” Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to identify, qualify, engage, and close both major and planned gifts to advance the mission of PHS. This professional must be comfortable initiating relationships and moving a relationship through to closing a charitable gift. The ability to reach established annual gift goals is a part of annual performance. Previous experience in planned giving is desired. The Foundation Office is located in Roseville, MN but the actual work is done at PHS communities in MN, WI and Iowa. Minimal out of state travel is required. Key Accountabilities: 1. Collaborate with colleagues and PHS leaders to enthusiastically advance the mission of Presbyterian Homes & Services. 2. Identify potential residents and family members who have capacity to make gifts; match their passions with approved opportunities within PHS. 3. Develop strategies to identify, cultivate and solicit major and future gifts through estate plans beneficiary designations to achieve established annual goals. 4. Identify and manage a portfolio of 100-120 potential donors (individuals/couples) which includes completing call/action reports after each contact, determining status/classification and meeting deadlines for each assigned donor. 5. Schedule and set strategies for individual visits with high-priority donors and prospects (average 20 per month) by utilizing a cultivation process to achieve solicitation status. 6. When appropriate, advise and engage the Foundation head, the campus administrator(s) and/or CEO to increase philanthropic support from residents, family members and friends of PHS. 7. Prepare gift proposals, including planned gift illustrations, to present to prospective donors. 8. Create and close documented gift agreements to clarify purpose of significant gifts with donor. 9. Record conversations and pertinent information into the DonorPerfect database; update donor records, contact reports in RE, and background data to facilitate periodic reports on activities, expenses, and results. 10. Promote a collegial atmosphere within the Foundation and PHS communities working cooperatively with all colleagues to help them and the department achieve overall financial and stewardship goals. Experience, Skills, and Education Required · Proven track record in developing meaningful relationships and closing gifts with prospective donors. · Quiet presence, keen listener, and strategic thinker. · Disciplined and enthusiastic about setting up personal visits, phone calls, or other types of contact with those assigned to a portfolio. · Excellent time manager and ability to juggle multiple projects. · Self-starter and finisher who is creative and focused, as well as collaborative across all levels of the organization. · Clear evidence of leadership success including the ability to manage competing and complex priorities. · Effective engagement with colleagues. · Competence in connecting with multiple generations and diverse types of donors. · High degree of competence in interpersonal, written and oral communications. · Proven problem-solving skills. · Well-organized, with demonstrated ability to convey genuine enthusiasm about mission and vision. · Ability to execute against plan and adjust, when necessary. · Strong professional initiative, persistence and confidence. · Demonstrated skill in effective conflict management. · Ability to manage with limited staff support. · Knowledge of, and experience in, long-term health care is beneficial. · B.A./B.S. degree; advanced degree preferred. Please notice the drop down that defaults to Active. You can organize your postings by Active, Expired, or Suspended. Note: Only active jobs are returned in your job list. If you would like to view your expired or suspended jobs, you must first click that option in the available filter. Can I edit a job I’ve posted? Access your job list by clicking the Manage Existing Jobs on your dashboard or in the menu bar. Select Edit from the list of action dropdowns to make the desired changes. Note: It can take up to 10 minutes for your changes to appear on that job when viewed in the search results. My job has been filled. How can I delete it? Jobs cannot be deleted. To remove a job from the active list, select Suspend from the action’s dropdown on the Manage Existing Jobs page. How can I set up resume alerts? Log into your account and hover over Resumes in the main menu. From there, click on Resume Agents which will bring you to a new page to create a customized email alert. These alerts arrive in your inbox automatically when a job seeker uploaded a resume that matches the criteria you inputted. You may unsubscribe from this service at any time by clicking the “Delete” option listed to the right of each alert. Resume Database Is there a fee associated with the resume database?
