The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) partnering with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE) is seeking 2 developers. OHE program tasks are based on overly complex configurations of manual processes and diverse but aging methods and software technologies. This complexity makes the methods difficult to optimize, manage, or even observe. Some of the larger implementations are done in aging technologies that are falling behind in terms of industry standards. In some cases, methods are out of compliance with state standards to the point where becoming compliant requires technology replacement along with process re-engineering. While many of the issues have been apparent to OHE management and staff for some time, insufficient technical resources are available to rectify them. This project exists to begin the process of replacing existing aging methods with more modernized, easier to support methods. Two C# on ASP.NET, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft T-SQL developers are needed to transform software designs and specifications into high functioning code to meet business needs. Industry coding standards and the technology design developed by the Enterprise Architect are expected to be followed. Developers will need to transform code from other languages such as Ingres ABF, Ingres RW, Ingres SC, Perl, Cold Fusion, etc. Developers are expected to conduct unit and string testing and participate in periodic code reviews to ensure quality and consistency. Responsibilities: Rewrite legacy data integration programs into Dynamics 365 compatible code (e.g., C# plugins, etc.) Reverse engineer a 4GL legacy application into Dynamics 365 UI workflows/screens Build out new automations and enhancements as defined by the business area into the Dynamics 365 environment Assist with UAT testing and data validation Create operational and production support documentation and provide knowledge transfer Respectfully and effectively collaborate with other project team members Core Skills: Developer, Programmer, Dynamics 365, C#, ASP.NET, Microsoft T-SQL, SQL, C, JavaScript, Workflow, Ingres ABF, Ingres RW, Visual Basic, DOS .BAT, Perl, Cold Fusion, Agile Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory: * 5+ years of experience in Developer/Programmer role. 2 engagements lasting more than six (6) months in Developer/Programmer role. 3-5+ years of experience with or relevant role with Dynamics 365. * 3-5+ years of using each of the following: * C# on ASP.NET Microsoft T-SQL 3-5+ years of experience in programing in languages such as SQL, C, C# and Java Script. 3-5+ years of experience with Workflow frameworks 3-5+ years of experience developing micro-services. 3-5+ years of experience transforming code into C#/ASP.NET and T-SQL from other languages such as: Ingres ABF Ingres RW Ingres SC an older dialect of Visual Basic DOS .BAT Perl Cold Fusion 3-5+ years of experience discovering and fixing errors in code. 3-5+ years of experience with tools such as version control, build management, requirements management, or bug and issue tracking. 3-5+ years of experience with analytical mindset and critical thinking. 3-5+ years of experience working independently and in agile/iterative teams.
