JOB DESCRIPTION The AV Engineer works with our sales team and customers to take complex audio-visual systems projects from start to completion and client acceptance. Customers are found in the business community and the education and government markets (Crestron, Extron, Sharp, Samsung, LG, Revo Labs, Middle Atlantic, Da-Lite and others.) Environments where we typically propose and install solutions include conference/board rooms, conference halls, auditoriums, class rooms, etc. The AV engineer will be involved from the initial assessment of customer needs all the way through design, pricing, implementation and client training. Responsibilities will also include keeping up to speed on the technologies from our suppliers, as well as the industry in general to ensure our being a market leader. WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role. Testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions and field verification of connections, labels, installation and work quality. Understand advanced system drawings, specifications and technical manuals. Create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off. Understand Control System and / or DSP program manipulation and commissioning. Upload and manipulate code for AV equipment such as DSP (Biamp/QSC/BSS/ClearOne) and upload and manipulate code for (Crestron/Extron/AMX), matrix mixers and switchers, VTC (Cisco/Polycom). Commission audio systems. Configure IP addressable devices and have a basic understanding of data networking Project installation giving support to field staff and project manager. Provide advanced support for field installation staff. Assist with maintaining and completing project punch-list for project close outs. Oversee the technical aspects of projects and IT coordination. Pre-quality check the projects, test all equipment and functionality and create punch lists. Assist sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations. Other duties may be assigned. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Will have at least 3-4 years of overall audio visual commercial integration industry experience working commercial integration projects. Must have a proven track record in audio visual systems engineering and control systems commissioning Must be able to work well with other people Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
